RLUK_David: @TAC_NISO Most of the science benefits of manned-space flight serious overstate and not value-for-money.
RLUK_David: @TAC_NISO I have nothing against adventuring, but let's not confuse it with science. Manned space-flight is adventure, not science
RLUK_David: @TAC_NISO All real extra-terrestrial scientific data-collection is now done by robots - they are much better at it than humans!
RLUK_David: Very cogently put argument RT @FakeElsevier: The REAL FakeElsevier, An Open Letter: http://t.co/WWnBSI5i
RLUK_David: @JenHoward @CameronNeylon 'think' it's not true -have heard as urban myth before -but can offer no concrete evidence. Which is the problem!

New RLUK and BLPAC “Caring for Collections” e-tool available
The jointly developed online “Caring for Collections” resource is now available via the Preservation Advisory Centre’s website here: www.bl.uk/blpac/induction.html
The e-tool and associated manual have arisen as one of the outputs of the shared programme of work on preservation in the context of overall collection management between RLUK and BLPAC. The e-tool is aimed at any library staff who handle books and documents. It provides an overview of how to care for the books and documents in library collections and why this is important.
Research Libraries UK and The British Library Preservation Advisory Centre would like to thank all those who have helped in the development of this resource.
