Britain in Print
The Britain in Print project involves the participation of eight CURL libraries as well as that of the Edinburgh Royal College of Physicians and the Mitchell Library in Glasgow. All ten libraries have significant collections of pre-1700 British books which are not yet catalogued in electronic form and the aim of the project is to enhance electronic access to this wealth of heritage material for the benefit of the general public. This work will also embrace the creation of a subject-based interpretative resource which will add value to the discovery information on COPAC by identifying key materials of importance to special interest groups, in particular school-age learners, local history groups, genealogical societies, life-long learners.
The project is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund
See the Britain in Print website, which has just been launched.
