Head of Collection Management and Operations

The Role
An impressive and experienced leader is required to implement the Library’s strategy for the lifecycle of its collections, maintaining international standards in acquisition, cataloguing and metadata, resource delivery, conservation and associated collection support services. This role will also offer critical support to the digitisation programme, determining new cataloguing priorities, and achieving rapid throughput of metadata enhancements to existing records.
The Person
The successful candidate must have a post graduate qualification in Library and Information Science, experience of collection building and acquisition of materials. Knowledge of library management systems for metadata creation and description, and experience of managing significant budgets is also essential. In addition, the successful candidate will have exceptional project management and strong negotiation skills

Head of Discovery and Engagement

The Role
A dynamic and energetic leader is required to increase awareness, profile and use of the Library’s collections by a broad and increasingly diverse range of audiences, through innovative and engaging discovery and promotional activities. In addition to managing and enhancing the experience of visitors to the Library, the candidate will also lead the development of discovery and engagement for the Library’s on-line resources, both for existing audiences and to reach new ones.
The Person
The successful candidate must have a post graduate qualification in an appropriate cultural specialism or demonstrate significant relevant experience. A strong background of delivering resources to different audiences via the web and in person is required. Experience of providing professional client service is essential. We shall also be looking for candidates who can demonstrate authority and the charisma to inspire innovation and creativity in others, as well as excellent presentational and interpersonal skills.
