Re-skilling for Research
RLUK has published a major report by Mary Auckland on the changing needs of researchers and the effect on the subject/liaison role within libraries.
As research activities evolve, research support must evolve with them. RLUK has been keen to determine what the new requirements of researchers are, and how best these needs can be met by the library. We want to place the needs of researchers in the context of the libraries current offering, and look at how we must change to fulfil the new demands placed upon us.
Disaster response and salvage courses
Disaster response and salvage courses to be held, in London (9 December), Edinburgh (14 January) and Leeds (25 January). These are part of the Preservation Learning Programme, sponsored by RLUK and BL Preservation Advisory Centre and are delivered by Harwell Document Restoration Services. A half day course costs £45 to RLUK members or £38 for 4+ people from a single RLUK institution. This compares to a full day HDRS course for £199 + vat (priority users) or £299 + vat.
