RLUK website accessibility statement

This accessibility statement applies to the rluk.ac.uk website.

The website is built in WordPress using the Avada theme, which is WCAG 2.1 compliant.

This website is run by RLUK and we want as many people as possible to be able to use this website.

For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

How accessible is our website?

  • Not all images have ALT descriptions
  • Some heading elements are inconsistent across the website
  • There are some images with text embedded which are not accessible to screen readers
  • Some older PDF documents may not be accessible to screen readers
  • There may be third party plugins that limit accessibility

We have identified areas we need to improve upon and will work to make these areas more accessible. We will also be conducting periodic reviews of the website.
