Subsequent to its meeting of 16.01.04, the CURL Board has agreed to subscribe to COUNTER for an initial year. Project COUNTER was launched in March 2002. COUNTER stands for Counting Online Usage of Networked Electronic Resources, and it is an international initiative designed to serve librarians, publishers and intermediaries by facilitating the recording and exchange of online usage statistics. CURL sees this subscription as part of its ongoing aim of improving access to electronic resources, as spelled out in its Vision under the new Strategic Plan
