Introduction

Generative AI is rapidly reshaping the landscape of higher education, bringing with it new possibilities, new challenges, and a pressing need for shared understanding across disciplines. This introductory video brings together voices from academic colleagues, students and librarians across RLUK’s membership to reflect on a range of themes What impact will GenAI have on education? How does it work in plain language? How should students use it responsibly? And what opportunities and concerns does it raise for learning, teaching, and assessment?

This video is part of an ongoing RLUK initiative to showcase the discipline specific guidance case studies and guidance on GenAI. It complements our AI in The Research Library. collection. Together, these resources aim to build confidence, deepen awareness, and highlight the vital role research libraries can play in supporting institutions to work and engage with Gen AI responsibly and effectively.
