CURL is pleased to announce that at its meeting of 17.07.03, the Board elected Clare Jenkins to the post of Chair with immediate effect.
Clare is Director of Library Services at Imperial College London, a post she has held since October 2000. Before moving to Imperial she was Assistant Director, Information Services (Collection Management) at the University of Birmingham, and earlier in her career she has held posts as Executive Secretary of CURL, and in libraries at the London School of Economics, the University of Greenwich, the University of Southampton, and King’s College London. A graduate of University College London, her initial library training and professional library qualifications were also gained at UCL. She is a member of two JISC committees: the Journals Working Group and the Scholarly Communications Group. She has published in the field of collection management and related areas.
On her election to the position of Chair of the Board, Clare expressed her enthusiasm for her new role in CURL:

I am looking forward to working with CURL members over the next two years and am confident that, through our ongoing collaboration, we will make a difference for the researchers who use our collections and services.”
