RLUK is a member of the Libraries and Archives Copyright Alliance (LACA), an informal group of organisations drawn from across the library, archive and information communities.
LACA exists to represent its members, harness their collective voice, and advocate for a fair and functioning copyright and licensing framework for the UK. Since late 2019, LACA has been revising its priorities and has recently announced twelve priority areas.
Working groups are being created to support LACA’s work under each of these areas. In a new blog post, Matt Greenhall (RLUK) and Fred Saunderson (National Library of Scotland) outline LACA’s priority areas and explore how these relate to the recent experiences of archives and libraries, and the opportunities for collective action.
