RESPONSIBILITIES MEMBERS PARTNERS
Database
Contribution to all machine readable catalogue records for inclusion in the database Must be willing to make catalogue records available for sharing within the RLUK membership, without charge Not required to contribute, but may do so by mutual agreement
COPAC developments Must be willing to subscribe to COPAC developments (arising from the JISC/RLUK Heads of Agreement) Not required to subscribe to COPAC developments, but may do so by mutual agreement
Interlending
Intra-RLUK interlending Must be wiling to lend appropriate materials to RLUK members at an agreed consortial rate Highly desirable to lend materials to RLUK members
Interlending to other HEIs Must be willing to lend appropriate materials to other HEIs (in accordance with the JISC/RLUK Heads of Agreement) Not required to lend to other HEIs but may be encouraged to do so
Commitment to collections Must have a long-term commitment to the maintenance and preservation of the institution’s research collections A long-term commitment to the maintenance and preservation of the institution’s research collections
Support for research Must be willing to play an active role in the support of research scholarship at national and international levels A willingness to play an active role in the support of research scholarship at national and international levels is highly desirable
Involvement with other organisations
British Library Preservation Advisory Centre Should be supportive of the work of the BLPAC Not obligatory
Other organisations Must be committed to support the Consortium in active involvement in those organisations with which RLUK may from time to time corporately agree to cooperate Should be willing to join in appropriate initiatives with other organisations where appropriate
RLUK’s strategic initiatives and member activities Must be committed to support full participation, where appropriate, in the whole range of activities
